Early one beautiful morning, Farmer CUTIS was ready for another busy day on the farm. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and the grass in the field was growing thick and green.
CUTIS looked at his tools and then glanced toward his favorite goat.
“Today, you’re coming with me!” he seemed to say.
The goat immediately became excited and followed CUTIS toward the field. CUTIS carried a basket and a small harvesting tool while the goat happily trotted beside him.
When they arrived, CUTIS began cutting the fresh grass. He gathered one bundle after another and placed them neatly into his basket.
But the goat had a completely different idea.
Instead of helping CUTIS collect the grass, the goat started eating it!
CUTIS stopped and stared.
The goat continued munching happily as if it were doing the most important job on the farm.
CUTIS tried to move to another patch of grass, but the goat followed him and started eating there too.
Every time CUTIS cut a bundle, the goat quickly appeared behind him.
CUTIS couldn’t help laughing.
“Are you harvesting grass or eating my harvest?” he seemed to wonder.
The goat didn’t care. It happily chewed away while CUTIS continued working.
Soon, CUTIS decided to turn the situation into a game. He cut a large bundle of grass and placed it in one spot for the goat. The goat rushed over and began eating its special pile.
CUTIS finally had some peace to finish his work!
After filling several baskets, CUTIS carried the grass home. The goat followed proudly behind him, looking as though it had worked all morning.
When they reached the farm, CUTIS gave the goat one final bundle of fresh grass as a reward.
The goat happily ate it while CUTIS laughed and shook his head.
Although the goat hadn’t exactly helped with the harvest, it certainly made the morning much more entertaining.
CUTIS realized that farming with animals was never boring. Sometimes, the funniest helpers were the ones who had absolutely no idea they were supposed to be working!
With a smile, CUTIS gave his furry friend a gentle pat.
“Tomorrow, maybe we’ll harvest together again—but you have to stop eating the tools!” 😂🐐🌿
