Early one peaceful morning, little Lyly the monkey woke up before everyone else in the house. Usually, Lyly loved sleeping late and playing outside all day, but today was different. She quietly looked at her mother, who had fallen asleep on the chair after a long day of hard work. Seeing her mother so tired made Lyly feel emotional.
Every day, Mom cooked delicious meals, cleaned the house, and took care of the whole family without complaining. Lyly suddenly realized how much love her mother gave every single day. She wanted to do something special to make her mother smile.
With determination in her eyes, Lyly tiptoed into the kitchen. Although she was still small, she carefully tied on a tiny apron and began preparing breakfast all by herself. First, she washed fresh vegetables from the garden. Then she picked a few ripe bananas and mangoes, her mother’s favorite fruits.
At first, things didn’t go smoothly. Lyly accidentally dropped a spoon on the floor and almost spilled the soup pot. She even burned one small pancake because she forgot to flip it in time. But Lyly didn’t give up. She patiently tried again, wanting everything to be perfect for her beloved mother.
After nearly an hour of hard work, the table was finally ready. There was warm soup, fruit slices, rice, and a freshly cooked egg. Even though the food looked simple, every dish was filled with love and care.
When Mom woke up and walked into the kitchen, she froze in surprise. The entire table had been prepared by little Lyly. A small handwritten note beside the plate said, “Thank you, Mom, for always loving me.”
Mother’s eyes immediately filled with tears. She hugged Lyly tightly, deeply touched by her thoughtful kindness. The food may not have looked perfect, but to her, it was the most meaningful meal she had ever received.
The family happily ate breakfast together while laughing and chatting warmly. That day, Lyly learned that true filial love doesn’t need expensive gifts. Sometimes, even a simple homemade meal prepared with sincerity can touch a parent’s heart more than anything else in the world.
