It was a beautiful sunny morning, and LYLY’s mother had a special surprise waiting for her. During the past few weeks, the family had worked hard to clean and fill a large swimming pool with fresh, cool water. Everyone thought LYLY would be the first one to jump in because she loved playing in the water.
When Mom called, “LYLY, come see your surprise!” the little monkey ran outside with excitement.
Her eyes grew wide when she saw the sparkling blue pool. It was bigger and cleaner than ever before. Dad smiled proudly, expecting LYLY to cheer with happiness.
But something unexpected happened.
Instead of running toward the pool, LYLY quietly stepped backward. She shook her head and hid behind her mother. Everyone looked at each other in surprise.
“Don’t you want to swim?” Mom asked gently.
LYLY looked at the deep water and whispered, “It’s too big.”
Although she had dreamed about a giant swimming pool, standing in front of it made her feel nervous. The deep water seemed much scarier than she had imagined. She wanted to swim, but her fear was stronger than her excitement.
Dad knelt beside her with a warm smile.
“It’s okay to feel scared,” he said. “You don’t have to rush.”
Instead of forcing LYLY into the water, Mom brought a small inflatable float and placed it in the shallow end. Dad stepped into the pool first, showing her that everything was safe. He splashed gently and laughed, making the water seem much less frightening.
Slowly, LYLY dipped one foot into the water.
“It isn’t so bad,” she said with a tiny smile.
Encouraged by her parents, she held Dad’s hand and carefully walked into the shallow area. Before long, she was happily floating with her colorful swim ring while Mom clapped from the side.
Soon, LYLY was splashing water, laughing loudly, and playing games with her family. The fear that had stopped her only a few minutes earlier disappeared little by little.
By the end of the afternoon, LYLY didn’t want to leave the pool at all.
That day, she learned an important lesson: being afraid of something new is completely normal. With patience, encouragement, and the support of loved ones, even the biggest fears can turn into the happiest adventures. Everyone went home smiling, proud of LYLY’s courage and determination.
