Lala and Mom Dig a Water Pond to Prepare for the Dry Season!

The hot summer sun had been shining for weeks, and the fields around Lala’s home were becoming dry. The grass turned yellow, the vegetable garden needed more water every day, and even the birds searched for fresh places to drink. Seeing the signs of the coming dry season, Mom knew it was time to prepare before water became scarce.

Early one morning, Mom invited little Lala to help dig a new water pond beside their garden. Although Lala was small, she eagerly grabbed her tiny shovel and smiled with excitement. She wanted to help protect their farm and make sure everyone would have enough water in the months ahead.

The work was not easy. Mom dug the larger sections while Lala carefully scooped out loose soil with her little shovel. Sometimes Lala accidentally splashed mud onto herself, making Mom laugh. Before long, both of them were covered in dirt from head to toe, but their cheerful giggles made the hard work feel like a fun adventure.

As the hole became deeper, Dad arrived with a wheelbarrow to carry away the extra soil. Together, the family shaped the pond, making gentle slopes so animals could safely reach the water. They even lined the edges with smooth stones to keep the pond neat and strong.

After hours of teamwork, the pond was finally ready. They filled it with fresh water collected from recent rainfall and a nearby storage tank. Soon, colorful butterflies fluttered nearby, little frogs hopped around the edges, and curious birds stopped for a refreshing drink. The pond quickly became a peaceful home for many small creatures.

Lala felt incredibly proud as she watched the sparkling water reflect the blue sky. She realized that preparing ahead was just as important as solving problems after they happen. By working together, the family had created a valuable source of water that would help their garden, fruit trees, and animal friends stay healthy during the long dry season.

That evening, Mom hugged Lala and thanked her for being such a hardworking helper. Lala smiled brightly, knowing that even small hands can make a big difference. Together, they had learned that caring for nature, planning ahead, and helping one another are the greatest treasures any family can share.
