It was a quiet morning at home, but something felt different to little Lily. Her dad was getting ready to leave the house, and Lily quickly realized that he was preparing to go somewhere without her.
At first, Lily simply watched him carefully. Dad gathered his things and checked everything he needed before leaving. Lily followed him from one room to another, hoping that he would change his mind.
When Dad reached for the door, Lily became worried. She moved closer and tried to stop him from leaving. Her little face suddenly looked sad, and tears began to appear in her eyes.
Dad noticed immediately and gently comforted her.
Lily cried because she didn’t want her dad to leave her. She was used to spending time with him at home, playing together, sharing food, and following him around during the day. The thought of being separated from him, even for a short time, made her feel lonely.
Dad sat down beside Lily and gave her a warm hug. He tried to reassure her that he would come back soon. Lily listened carefully, but she still didn’t want to let him go.
She held onto Dad tightly and refused to move away. Every time Dad tried to stand up, Lily followed him again. It was clear that she simply wanted a little more time with her favorite person.
Dad smiled and gently explained that he had something important to do. He promised Lily that he would return as soon as he finished.
Lily slowly began to calm down, but she still looked worried. Dad gave her another hug and reminded her that she would not be alone. Mom would stay with her and take care of her while he was away.
Finally, Lily allowed Dad to leave, although she continued watching him from the doorway. Dad waved goodbye and gave her one last reassuring smile.
After he left, Lily stayed close to Mom and waited patiently. She knew Dad had promised to return.
Later, when Dad finally came home, Lily’s sadness disappeared instantly. She hurried over to greet him and happily stayed by his side.
