Lily Helps Dad Clean the House and Make Sticky Rice Cakes for Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year was just around the corner, and the house was filled with excitement. Dad had plenty of things to prepare, from cleaning every corner of the home to making delicious traditional sticky rice cakes. This year, however, he didn’t have to do everything alone because little Lily was ready to help!

Early in the morning, Lily followed Dad around the house with a big smile. She watched carefully as Dad began sweeping the floors and organizing everything. Lily immediately grabbed a small cleaning cloth and started wiping the furniture.

She took her job very seriously.

Whenever Dad moved something, Lily tried to help put it back in the right place. Sometimes she became a little too enthusiastic and moved things somewhere Dad wasn’t expecting, which made him laugh. Still, Dad praised her for trying her best.

Once the house was clean and tidy, it was time for the most exciting part—making sticky rice cakes for Lunar New Year!

Dad prepared the ingredients while Lily watched with great curiosity. She was especially interested in the sticky rice, beans, and other ingredients that would go into the traditional cakes.

Dad showed Lily how to prepare the ingredients and carefully explained each step. Lily listened closely and tried to imitate everything he did.

When it was time to wrap the cakes, Lily was determined to help. Her little hands carefully held the leaves while Dad guided her. The first few attempts weren’t perfect, but Lily didn’t give up. She kept trying until she finally made one that looked much better.

Dad smiled proudly.

“Great job, Lily!”

Lily looked at her creation with excitement. She seemed incredibly proud that she had helped make something special for the family.

Soon, the cakes were ready to be cooked. The wonderful smell began filling the house, making everyone even more excited for the celebration.

As Dad and Lily sat together and waited, they talked and laughed about their busy morning. They had cleaned the house, prepared the food, and created a beautiful memory together.

For Lily, helping Dad wasn’t just about doing chores. It was a chance to learn about family traditions and experience the joy of preparing for Lunar New Year.

By the end of the day, the house was sparkling clean, the sticky rice cakes were ready, and Lily was happily exhausted.

It was a simple family day—but one filled with love, laughter, tradition, and unforgettable memories.
