It was a very hot summer afternoon, and the sun shined brightly over the garden. Everyone in the house felt warm and tired from the heat. Little Lily sat under a tree fanning herself with a leaf while Dad worked in the yard. Suddenly, Dad smiled and said, “Today is the perfect day to make fresh watermelon juice!”
Lily’s eyes sparkled with excitement. She loved sweet watermelon, especially during the summer. “I want to help!” she shouted happily as she jumped to her feet.
Together, Lily and Dad walked to the garden where several giant watermelons rested on the ground. Lily carefully knocked on each watermelon just like Dad taught her. After listening closely, she finally pointed at the biggest one. “This one sounds perfect!”
Dad laughed and picked up the large watermelon while Lily proudly carried a small basket of mint leaves and lemons for extra flavor.
Back in the kitchen, Dad sliced the watermelon open. Bright red fruit filled with juicy sweetness appeared inside, making Lily clap excitedly. She helped scoop the watermelon pieces into the blender while sneaking a few bites for herself. Her cheeks puffed out as she smiled with sticky watermelon juice around her mouth.
Next, Lily added ice cubes, a little honey, fresh lemon juice, and mint leaves into the blender. Dad turned it on, and the kitchen filled with the refreshing smell of fresh fruit.
When the juice was ready, Lily carefully poured it into tall glasses. She decorated each glass with tiny watermelon slices and mint leaves, making them look extra special. The cold juice sparkled beautifully in the sunlight.
Soon, everyone gathered around the table to enjoy the refreshing summer drink. The puppy wagged its tail nearby while the ducklings watched curiously. Lily proudly handed the first glass to Dad.
Dad took a sip and smiled warmly. “This is the best watermelon juice ever!”
Lily giggled happily and enjoyed her own glass. The cold, sweet drink made everyone feel cool and refreshed despite the hot weather outside.
As the summer breeze gently moved through the garden, Lily felt proud to help Dad create something delicious for the whole family. It became one of the happiest summer afternoons they would always remember.
