The morning sun stretched gently across the garden, painting everything in warm golden light. Lily skipped barefoot along the soft grass, her laughter echoing like music in the quiet air. Today was her favorite kind of day—bright, peaceful, and full of tiny adventures waiting to happen.
Near the little pond at the corner of the garden, a group of fluffy yellow ducklings waddled clumsily behind their mother. Lily’s eyes lit up with excitement as she spotted them. “Hello, little ones!” she called softly, kneeling down so she wouldn’t scare them.
The ducklings paused, tilting their tiny heads as if curious about this cheerful girl. One brave duckling waddled closer, its soft feet making tiny tapping sounds on the ground. Lily giggled, holding out her hand carefully. “Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you,” she whispered.
Soon, the rest of the ducklings gathered around her, forming a fuzzy little circle. Lily clapped her hands with joy. She picked a few blades of fresh grass and gently offered them. The ducklings eagerly nibbled, their tiny beaks tickling her fingers. The feeling made Lily burst into laughter.
She decided to play a game. Standing up slowly, Lily tiptoed away and called, “Follow me!” To her delight, the ducklings waddled after her in a wobbly line. Around the flowers they went, past the old wooden bench, and under the shade of a big mango tree. It felt like a magical parade, with Lily leading and her fluffy friends close behind.
After a while, Lily sat down near the pond, catching her breath. The ducklings gathered beside her, some resting, others still pecking curiously at the grass. Their mother watched calmly, trusting Lily’s gentle nature.
As a soft breeze passed through the garden, Lily smiled, feeling happy and peaceful. She leaned back on her hands, watching the ducklings play and splash in the water.
“This is the best day ever,” she said quietly.
And in that simple moment, surrounded by nature and her new little friends, Lily knew that happiness could be found in the smallest, sweetest things.
