It was a hot summer afternoon, and little Monkey LYLY was enjoying her favorite vanilla ice cream cone. She skipped happily around the living room, taking tiny bites while smiling from ear to ear. The cold, creamy treat made her feel refreshed, and she didn’t want it to melt too quickly.
Just then, Mom called from the kitchen.
“LYLY, can you come help me for a minute?”
Not wanting to lose her delicious ice cream, LYLY looked around for a safe place to keep it. Her eyes landed on the TV cabinet. Thinking it would only be for a moment, she carefully placed the ice cream cone inside the cabinet, closed the door, and hurried to help Mom.
After helping wash a few fruits and carrying some vegetables, LYLY completely forgot about her hidden snack. The afternoon passed quickly as she played with her toys, read picture books, and even took a short nap.
Later that evening, LYLY suddenly remembered.
“My ice cream!” she shouted.
She ran as fast as she could to the TV cabinet and eagerly opened the little door.
Instead of finding a perfect ice cream cone, she was greeted by a sticky mess. The ice cream had completely melted, dripping onto the shelf and leaving sweet puddles everywhere. The cone had become soft and soggy, collapsing into pieces.
“Oh no…” LYLY sighed sadly.
Mom walked over after hearing her disappointed voice. She looked inside the cabinet and couldn’t help but smile gently.
“I guess ice cream doesn’t like hiding in warm places,” Mom said kindly.
Feeling embarrassed, LYLY grabbed a cleaning cloth. Together, she and Mom carefully wiped away the melted ice cream, cleaned every corner of the cabinet, and made sure it was spotless again.
After everything was clean, Mom gave LYLY a warm hug.
“Everyone makes little mistakes,” she said. “The important thing is learning from them.”
LYLY nodded with a small smile. She realized that ice cream belongs in the freezer until it’s time to eat it—not inside a TV cabinet!
Although she didn’t get to enjoy her treat that day, she learned a valuable lesson about remembering where she puts things and cleaning up after accidents. From then on, whenever LYLY enjoyed an ice cream cone, she made sure to finish it right away before it had a chance to melt away.
