LYLY Secretly Paints Her Nails, and Here’s What Her Mother Did When She Found Out

One quiet afternoon, LYLY was playing in her room while her mom was busy cleaning the house. As she looked through a small basket on the dresser, she noticed a colorful bottle of nail polish. It sparkled in the sunlight, and LYLY became curious.

“I wonder what my nails would look like with this pretty color,” she whispered to herself.

Thinking it would be a fun surprise, LYLY carefully opened the bottle and began painting her tiny fingernails. She tried her best to stay neat, but since it was her first time, a little polish ended up on her fingers and even on the table. When she finished, she proudly admired her shiny pink nails and smiled from ear to ear.

A few moments later, Mom walked into the room and immediately noticed the colorful fingerprints on the table. She then looked at LYLY’s hands and realized exactly what had happened.

LYLY quickly hid her hands behind her back. She looked nervous, expecting Mom to be angry.

Instead, Mom took a deep breath and gently smiled.

“So, someone decided to become a little beauty expert today?” Mom asked kindly.

LYLY slowly nodded and admitted, “I’m sorry, Mom. I wanted pretty nails, but I didn’t ask first.”

Mom sat beside her and softly held her hands. “Thank you for telling me the truth,” she said. “I’m not upset because you wanted to have fun. But nail polish should only be used with an adult’s help, and it’s always important to ask permission before using someone else’s things.”

Together, they carefully cleaned the table and washed away the extra polish from LYLY’s fingers. Then Mom surprised her.

“How about we do this together?” she suggested.

LYLY’s eyes lit up with excitement.

Mom spread a small towel on the table and showed LYLY how to paint nails slowly and carefully without making a mess. She even let LYLY choose her favorite soft pink color. This time, they laughed together as Mom carefully painted each tiny nail.

When they finished, LYLY proudly admired her neat little manicure.

“Thank you, Mom!” she said happily. “Next time, I’ll always ask first.”

Mom hugged her warmly. “That’s my good girl. It’s okay to be curious, but asking first and learning together makes everything even more fun.”

That evening, LYLY couldn’t stop smiling. She learned that honesty, good manners, and spending time with Mom were far more beautiful than colorful nail polish alone.
