Lyly the monkey had always been very attached to her mother. No matter where Mom went, Lyly would follow closely behind with her tiny hands reaching out for comfort. She loved hugs more than bananas, and everyone in the family knew that Lyly could never sleep peacefully unless she was beside her mother.
One quiet evening, after a long day of playing in the garden, Lyly began to feel sleepy. The sky turned orange as the sun slowly disappeared behind the trees, and a cool breeze drifted through the house. Mom prepared a soft blanket and gently called Lyly to bedtime.
At first, Lyly tried to act brave and independent. She lay down on her own little pillow and closed her eyes tightly. But only a few minutes later, she peeked around the room searching for her mother.
Mom was sitting nearby folding clothes peacefully.
Without saying a word, Lyly slowly crawled across the bed with sleepy eyes. Her tiny tail dragged behind her while she hugged her favorite stuffed toy. The moment she reached her mother, she immediately wrapped both arms tightly around Mom’s waist and rested her little head against her chest.
It was the sweetest sight ever. 🐵❤️
Even while half asleep, Lyly refused to let go. Every time Mom tried moving slightly, Lyly cuddled even closer like a tiny baby afraid of losing her warm pillow. Her small fingers gently held onto her mother’s shirt while soft little snores filled the room.
Mom smiled lovingly and stroked Lyly’s soft fur.
Dad quietly walked into the room and couldn’t stop laughing softly at how affectionate Lyly was. He whispered, “Look at her! She sleeps like a little koala!”
Lyly didn’t hear anything because she was already dreaming happily. Her face looked peaceful, safe, and completely relaxed beside her mother. Even the family puppy curled up nearby as if enjoying the warm family moment.
As the night grew darker, the room became calm and silent. Mom carefully covered Lyly with the blanket and kissed her forehead gently.
That night reminded everyone of something beautiful — no matter how playful or naughty little Lyly could be during the day, deep inside she was still just a loving baby monkey who wanted nothing more than to feel safe in her mother’s arms. 🥰
