One peaceful morning, Lyly the little monkey woke up feeling a bit sad. The weather was cloudy, and she had been thinking about how difficult some days could be. She quietly sat under a tree while watching other animals play nearby.
Her mother noticed right away that something was bothering her beloved daughter.
“Lyly, what’s wrong?” her mother asked gently.
Lyly looked down and replied, “Nothing, Mom. I’m just feeling a little unhappy today.”
Without saying much, her mother sat beside her and wrapped her arms around Lyly in a warm hug. The comforting embrace made Lyly feel safer, but she still couldn’t explain why her heart felt heavy.
Throughout the day, Lyly began noticing all the little things her mother did for her. Before breakfast, her mother prepared Lyly’s favorite banana pancakes. When they went for a walk, her mother held her hand while crossing a small stream. Later, when Lyly became tired, her mother carried her on her back all the way home.
That evening, Lyly accidentally tripped while playing in the yard. Although she wasn’t badly hurt, she felt embarrassed and started to cry. Her mother immediately rushed over, cleaned the small scratch on her knee, and softly said, “It’s okay, my dear. Everyone falls sometimes.”
As her mother gently cared for her, Lyly suddenly realized something important. No matter what happened—whether she was happy, sad, scared, or hurt—her mother was always there for her.
At dinner, Lyly watched her mother serving food to everyone before eating herself. She remembered countless moments when her mother sacrificed her own comfort to make sure Lyly was safe and happy.
Tears slowly filled Lyly’s eyes.
“Mom, why do you always do so much for me?” she asked.
Her mother smiled warmly. “Because I love you more than anything in the world.”
Hearing those words, Lyly could no longer hold back her emotions. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she hugged her mother tightly.
“Thank you, Mom,” Lyly whispered. “You always make me feel special.”
Her mother kissed her forehead and hugged her back.
That night, Lyly fell asleep with a grateful heart, knowing she was blessed to have a mother whose love was endless, gentle, and unconditional.
