LYLY the little monkey had recently discovered something very exciting—she loved making herself look beautiful! Every morning, she would sit in front of a small mirror and carefully inspect her face, fur, and clothes. She wanted to look as cute and stylish as possible.
One day, LYLY found a small hairbrush and began brushing her fur again and again. She tilted her head from side to side, admiring herself in the mirror. Then she found a colorful ribbon and tried to tie it around her head.
“Look, Mom! Am I beautiful?” LYLY seemed to ask proudly.
Her mother smiled lovingly, but before LYLY could continue, she gently took the ribbon away.
LYLY looked surprised. Why did Mom always stop her?
A few minutes later, LYLY found some powder and tried to touch her face with it. Her mother quickly came over and carefully moved it out of reach.
LYLY became a little disappointed. She wanted to understand why her mother kept stopping her whenever she tried something new.
Her mother then picked LYLY up and gave her a warm hug. She gently showed her that some beauty products were not safe for a little monkey. They could irritate her skin, get into her eyes, or make her sick if she accidentally tasted them.
LYLY listened carefully. She finally understood that Mom wasn’t trying to stop her from being beautiful. Mom was simply trying to protect her.
Instead, her mother brought out a soft brush and a cute little ribbon that was safe for LYLY to use. Together, they carefully brushed her fur and decorated her head.
LYLY looked into the mirror again and smiled brightly. She didn’t need makeup or fancy products to look beautiful. Her clean, fluffy fur, sparkling eyes, and happy smile were already enough.
Then LYLY gave her mother a big hug.
Her mother kissed her gently, reminding her that true beauty isn’t about using lots of things to change your appearance. It comes from being healthy, happy, kind, and loved.
LYLY seemed to understand completely. From that day on, whenever she wanted to try something new, she would first look at Mom and wait for permission.
