One peaceful afternoon, LYLY’s mother decided to take a short nap in her favorite hammock. After a busy morning, she gently climbed into it, closed her eyes, and soon drifted into a deep and comfortable sleep.
Meanwhile, LYLY had a completely different idea.
She had found the perfect place for a nap—a soft, cozy spot inside the house with a warm blanket and her favorite little pillow. LYLY wanted her mother to sleep there with her.
“Mom! Come sleep with me!” LYLY called.
But her mother didn’t answer.
LYLY walked closer and saw that her mother was already fast asleep in the hammock. At first, she tried calling her name again. “Mom! Wake up! I found a better place!”
Still, nothing happened.
LYLY looked at the hammock and began thinking of a plan. She gently tugged on one side, hoping the movement would wake her mother. The hammock swung slightly, but Mom only turned over and continued sleeping.
LYLY tried again.
This time, she pulled a little harder. The hammock moved back and forth, while LYLY held on tightly with both hands.
“Mom, wake up!” she said with determination.
Her mother slowly opened one eye and looked at LYLY, who was working as hard as she could to move the hammock.
“What are you doing, LYLY?” Mom asked sleepily.
LYLY pointed excitedly toward the house. She wanted Mom to understand that the hammock was not the right place to sleep today. Her special sleeping spot was waiting!
Mom smiled at LYLY’s serious expression. Instead of getting upset, she gently climbed out of the hammock and followed her determined little one.
LYLY immediately became excited. She hurried inside, grabbed her favorite blanket, and showed Mom the cozy place she had prepared. It was simple, but LYLY had arranged everything with love.
Mom lay down beside her, and LYLY happily snuggled close.
“There! This is where I wanted us to sleep!” LYLY seemed to say proudly.
Mom laughed softly and gave her a warm hug. Soon, both of them were resting comfortably together.
Although LYLY had worked very hard trying to wake her mother from the hammock, her efforts had one sweet purpose—she simply wanted to share her favorite sleeping place with Mom.
And in the end, the best place to sleep wasn’t the hammock or the soft blanket. It was anywhere LYLY and her mother could be together, feeling safe, warm, and loved.
