One sunny morning, LYLY woke up feeling full of excitement. She had watched her mother cook so many delicious meals that she suddenly had a wonderful idea.
“Today, I’m going to cook all by myself!” LYLY proudly announced.
Mom smiled and reminded her to be careful. Then she stepped outside for a few minutes, trusting LYLY to prepare something simple. But when Mom returned to the kitchen, she stopped at the doorway and could hardly believe her eyes.
The kitchen was a complete disaster!
Flour covered the table, the floor, and even LYLY’s little face. Vegetables were scattered everywhere, and several bowls had somehow ended up upside down. A spoon was lying under a chair, while an egg had rolled across the floor and cracked.
In the middle of all the chaos stood LYLY.
She was wearing an oversized apron and holding a mixing bowl. When she saw her mother, LYLY froze. Her eyes grew wide, and she slowly looked around at the enormous mess she had created.
For a moment, Mom was completely speechless.
Then LYLY lowered her head and whispered, “I just wanted to make something delicious for you.”
Mom’s surprise quickly turned into laughter. She couldn’t stay angry after seeing LYLY’s flour-covered face and nervous expression. But instead of cleaning everything alone, Mom decided to teach LYLY an important lesson.
“Cooking can be fun,” Mom said gently, “but cleaning up is also part of cooking!”
LYLY nodded and immediately began picking up the vegetables. She wiped the table, collected the bowls, and carefully helped sweep the flour from the floor. Although the kitchen was still messy, the two of them worked together and soon everything looked much better.
Then came the biggest surprise.
Mom looked inside LYLY’s cooking pot and took a small taste. Her eyes widened again—but this time for a completely different reason.
“It’s actually delicious!” Mom exclaimed.
LYLY jumped with excitement. After all the mess, she had managed to create something wonderful! Mom hugged her tightly and told her how proud she was.
From that day on, LYLY continued practicing her cooking skills. She still made a few funny mistakes, but she always remembered one important rule: a great little chef cleans up after the adventure!
