Monkey LYLY was having a quiet and exciting day at home when her mother suddenly decided to look for something delicious to eat. LYLY had recently collected a big basket of fresh fruit and carefully stored it in a secret basement area. She considered the place her special hiding spot, and she had a very important reason for keeping the fruit there.
LYLY had arranged everything neatly. There were bananas, apples, oranges, and several other fruits placed carefully in baskets. She was proud of her little collection and planned to enjoy some of it later. She even checked the basement several times to make sure everything was safe.
But then Mom came downstairs.
When LYLY noticed her mother walking toward the secret fruit storage area, she immediately became worried. Mom opened the door and reached toward the basket.
“Mom, stop right now!” LYLY seemed to say as she quickly hurried over.
LYLY stood directly in front of the fruit and tried to block her mother. She shook her head and pointed toward the basket as if telling Mom, “You can’t take those!”
Mom looked surprised. She probably wondered why LYLY was suddenly guarding the fruit so carefully. She tried to reach for one more piece, but LYLY quickly moved in front of her again.
The funny little monkey looked very serious. She carefully pulled the basket farther away and hugged it protectively. Mom could not help but laugh at LYLY’s dramatic reaction.
After a moment, Mom asked LYLY why she was protecting the fruit so much. LYLY finally showed her secret plan. She had saved the fruit because she wanted to prepare a special snack later and share it with her family.
Mom understood immediately. Instead of taking the fruit, she decided to help LYLY organize the baskets. Together, they checked each piece of fruit and made sure everything was fresh.
LYLY was relieved that her secret basement was safe. She happily carried a few fruits upstairs and prepared a tasty snack for herself and Mom.
In the end, LYLY learned that she did not have to guard her secret fruit so seriously when she could simply explain her plan. Mom also learned that LYLY’s little basement collection was something special to her.
