Monkey Lyly had been waiting all week for her fun shopping trip at the local market. Early that morning, she woke up excited, picked out her favorite yellow dress, and carefully packed a tiny purse filled with coins she had saved. She dreamed of buying sweet bananas, colorful ribbons, and maybe even a toy for her little puppy friend.
But the moment Lyly stepped outside, she froze in confusion.
The weather was unbelievably hot!
The sun blazed fiercely overhead, making the roads shimmer like melting glass. Even the birds were hiding quietly under tree branches. Lyly scratched her head and looked around with wide eyes. “Why is the world boiling today?” she wondered dramatically.
Still determined to enjoy her shopping adventure, Lyly marched toward the market. After only a few minutes, sweat dripped down her face. Her fluffy fur became messy and damp, and her little sandals felt like they were sticking to the ground.
At the market, things became even stranger. The ice cream seller’s treats were melting before customers could eat them. Vegetables looked wilted from the heat, and everyone fanned themselves with newspapers and hats.
Lyly grew more confused by the minute.
She tried to shop quickly, but every stall brought new problems. The bananas were too warm to carry comfortably, her favorite chocolate started melting in her purse, and even the cold juice she bought became warm almost instantly.
“Is the sun angry today?” Lyly sighed dramatically.
Feeling tired and disappointed, she sat sadly beneath a tree near the edge of the market. Her shopping fun had completely disappeared. Just as she was about to give up and go home, dark clouds suddenly rolled across the sky.
Then came a cool breeze.
A few seconds later, gentle rain began to fall.
The entire market cheered with happiness. Children danced in puddles, sellers laughed with relief, and the cool air instantly refreshed everyone. Lyly lifted her face toward the rain and giggled loudly.
But the funniest part came next.
When she opened her purse to check her money, she discovered her melted chocolate had glued all her coins together into one giant sticky lump!
The nearby shoppers burst into laughter, and even Lyly couldn’t stop laughing at her strange, unforgettable shopping adventure.
