Monkey Lyly Is Hungry but Can’t Wake Up Her Mother… and What Happens Next

The morning sun peeked through the leaves, casting soft golden light into the little treehouse where Monkey Lyly and her mother slept. Usually, Lyly would wake up to the smell of delicious food and her mother’s gentle voice calling her for breakfast. But today was different.

Lyly’s tummy rumbled loudly as she opened her eyes. She looked over at her mother, who was still fast asleep, breathing slowly and deeply. “Mom… I’m hungry,” Lyly whispered, gently nudging her arm. But her mother didn’t wake up. Lyly tried again, this time a little louder. Still nothing.

For a moment, Lyly felt confused. Her mother had never slept this long before. She poked her softly, shook her arm, and even tried making funny noises—but her mother remained asleep. Lyly’s hunger grew, and so did her worry.

Instead of crying, Lyly took a deep breath and climbed down from the bed. “Maybe I can find something myself,” she thought. It was her first time trying to solve a problem like this alone. She stepped outside, the forest fresh and quiet, and looked around carefully.

Lyly remembered where her mother usually found fruit. With small but determined steps, she walked toward the banana trees nearby. The bunches hung high, but Lyly didn’t give up. She climbed slowly, holding on tightly, and managed to grab a small ripe banana. She smiled proudly.

After eating a little to calm her hunger, Lyly picked another banana for her mother. “Mom will need energy too,” she said softly. Carrying it carefully, she hurried back home.

When she returned, her mother was beginning to stir. Lyly quickly climbed up and gently held out the banana. “Mom, you were sleeping so long… I got this for you,” she said.

Her mother opened her eyes, surprised and touched. Seeing Lyly safe and caring brought a warm smile to her face. She hugged Lyly tightly, proud of her bravery and kindness.

That morning became special—not because of breakfast, but because Lyly learned something important: even when things don’t go as expected, a little courage and love can make everything better.
