Monkey Lyly has always loved snacks, but nothing compares to her love for popcorn. The fluffy, crunchy treat has become her absolute favorite food, and whenever she sees a bowl of it, she simply cannot resist. Her mother has tried everything to slow her down, but Lyly’s obsession with popcorn continues to surprise everyone.
One sunny afternoon, Lyly’s mother decided to make a fresh batch of popcorn for the family. As soon as the delicious smell filled the air, Lyly came running from the other side of the house. Her eyes grew wide with excitement, and she eagerly watched every kernel pop inside the pot.
The moment the popcorn was ready, Lyly grabbed a handful and stuffed it into her mouth. Crunch, crunch, crunch! She happily munched away while smiling from ear to ear. Her mother laughed and reminded her to eat slowly, but Lyly was too excited to listen.
A few minutes later, Lyly had already eaten half the bowl. Her mother gently moved the popcorn farther away, hoping Lyly would take a break. However, the clever little monkey quickly climbed onto a chair, stretched her arm, and reached the bowl anyway.
“Lyly, that’s enough for now,” her mother said.
But Lyly shook her head and reached for another handful.
Soon, popcorn crumbs were scattered everywhere. Some were on the table, some on the floor, and a few were even stuck in Lyly’s fur. The sight was so funny that everyone in the house started laughing.
Determined to help her daughter eat more responsibly, Lyly’s mother hid the remaining popcorn in a kitchen cabinet. Surely that would work, she thought.
To her surprise, Lyly carefully searched the room until she discovered the hiding spot. She sat in front of the cabinet and pointed at it, making it very clear what she wanted.
Her mother couldn’t help but laugh at Lyly’s determination. Finally, she gave her a small extra portion and explained that treats are best enjoyed in moderation.
Lyly happily enjoyed the last handful and then cuddled beside her mother. Although her popcorn obsession was stronger than ever, she learned that sharing and eating sensibly are important too.
