One bright and peaceful morning, Monkey Lyly was playing outside when she noticed something interesting next door. Her friendly neighbor was washing his car. He carefully sprayed water over the dusty vehicle, rubbed the windows with a soft sponge, and wiped everything until the car looked shiny again.
Lyly stood nearby, watching closely. She was fascinated by how clean the car became.
“Wow! It looks brand new!” Lyly excitedly said.
Her neighbor smiled and showed her how to wash a car safely. First, he explained that she should rinse away the dirt with water. Then she could use a soft sponge and soapy water to gently clean the outside. Finally, everything needed to be rinsed and dried.
Lyly paid close attention. She wanted to learn every step.
When her neighbor finished, Lyly hurried home and looked at her family’s car. It was covered with dust and tiny muddy marks from their last trip.
“Mom! Dad! I want to wash the car!” Lyly announced proudly.
Mom looked surprised. “You want to wash it yourself?”
Lyly nodded enthusiastically. “Yes! My neighbor taught me how!”
With Dad nearby to supervise, Lyly got a bucket of water, a sponge, and a clean cloth. She started by gently rinsing the car. SPLASH! Water flew everywhere, and Lyly giggled as a few drops landed on her face.
Then she dipped the sponge into the soapy water and carefully scrubbed the doors. She moved slowly, making sure not to miss the dusty corners.
At first, Lyly accidentally made a few bubbles cover her arms and nose. Mom laughed warmly.
“You look like a little snow monkey!”
Lyly laughed and continued working.
After rinsing the soap away, she used the cloth to wipe the car until it sparkled in the sunlight. When she stepped back to admire her work, her face filled with pride.
Mom and Dad were impressed.
“Great job, Lyly! You learned something useful by watching your neighbor,” Dad said.
Lyly smiled proudly. She realized that paying attention, helping others, and practicing new skills could teach her wonderful things.
From that day on, Lyly loved helping keep the family car clean—and she always remembered the kind neighbor who taught her how to do it.
