One sunny morning, Monkey Lyly woke up with a secret plan. Usually, she loved going to the market with her mother. The colorful fruits, delicious snacks, and friendly vendors always made the trip exciting. But today was different.
As soon as Mom mentioned the market, Lyly quickly shook her head.
“No, Mom! I want to stay home today,” she said with an innocent smile.
Her mother looked surprised. “Are you sure? We usually have fun together at the market.”
Lyly nodded eagerly. “I’m sure!”
Mom didn’t know that Lyly had a special mission. The moment the house became quiet, she planned to enjoy complete freedom and turn the living room into her own personal playground.
After making sure Lyly would be safe, Mom left for the market.
The second the door closed, Lyly jumped into action.
First, she gathered all her favorite toys and lined them up across the floor. Then she built a giant pillow fort using cushions from the sofa. Soon, the living room looked like a magical monkey kingdom.
“This is amazing!” Lyly laughed.
She pretended to be a brave explorer searching for hidden treasure. A basket became a pirate ship, a broom became a horse, and the pillows transformed into mountains she had to climb.
After a while, Lyly discovered some crayons on a table. She sat down and started drawing colorful pictures of bananas, flowers, and her family. She was having so much fun that she completely lost track of time.
But as the afternoon passed, something unexpected happened.
The house felt a little too quiet.
There was no one to laugh with, no one to admire her drawings, and no one to share her adventures. Suddenly, Lyly missed her mother.
When Mom finally returned from the market, carrying bags of fresh fruit and tasty treats, Lyly ran straight into her arms.
“I missed you!” she said.
Mom smiled and hugged her tightly.
That evening, Lyly happily shared stories about her solo adventures. She realized that freedom was fun, but spending time with her mother was even better.
The next time Mom invited her to the market, Lyly didn’t hesitate.
“Let’s go together!” she said with a big smile.
