It started as an ordinary filming day, with the cameraman setting up his equipment while Monkey Lyly sat nearby, quietly observing. Usually, Lyly loved the camera—she would wave, pose, and even try to “help” by tapping on the lens. But today, something was different.
Lyly turned her back to the cameraman.
At first, everyone thought she was just playing. But minutes passed, and Lyly refused to look his way. She crossed her tiny arms, puffed out her cheeks, and let out a soft huff. Clearly, she was upset.
“What’s wrong with you today?” the cameraman asked gently.
Lyly didn’t respond. Instead, she scooted farther away and sat in the corner, avoiding eye contact completely. The crew exchanged confused glances. Nothing unusual had happened… or had it?
Then someone noticed.
Earlier that morning, the cameraman had given a banana—but not to Lyly.
He had handed it to another monkey first.
That was it.
Lyly had seen everything, and in her mind, it was completely unacceptable. She felt ignored, maybe even replaced. For Lyly, who was used to attention and affection, this small moment had turned into a big emotional storm.
The cameraman slowly approached her, holding a fresh banana in his hand. “Hey, Lyly… this one’s for you,” he said softly.
Lyly glanced at him, then quickly looked away again, pretending she didn’t care. But her eyes kept drifting back to the banana.
The crew tried not to laugh.
After a few seconds of silence, Lyly couldn’t resist anymore. She turned around, snatched the banana, and held it tightly. Still, she kept her serious expression, as if she hadn’t just given in.
The cameraman smiled. “Feeling better now?”
Lyly hesitated… then finally nodded, taking a bite. Within moments, her sulking disappeared. She moved closer, climbed onto his lap, and even leaned toward the camera again.
Just like that, the tension melted away.
In the end, it wasn’t really about the banana—it was about feeling seen and loved. And once Lyly knew she hadn’t been forgotten, everything went back to normal… as if nothing had ever happened.
