Monkey Lyly loved helping everyone around the house, especially when someone had a little problem. One sunny afternoon, Dung was trying to fix a small wooden board that had become loose near the garden. He looked at it carefully and wondered how he could make it strong again.
Lyly watched from nearby and immediately decided she wanted to help. She proudly walked over and said, “Don’t worry, Dung! I can fix it for you!”
Dung smiled and handed Lyly the board while he looked for a safe way to hold it steady. Lyly noticed her mother’s roll of strong tape sitting on a small table. She thought the tape would be perfect for the job.
Without asking her mother, Lyly picked up the tape roll and started wrapping it around the board. At first, everything seemed to be going perfectly. She pulled the tape tightly and proudly showed Dung her work.
But Lyly got a little too excited. She pulled harder and harder, trying to make the board extra strong. Suddenly, the tape became tangled around her fingers. Lyly tried to pull it free, but the roll slipped from her hands and fell onto the ground.
“Oh no!” Lyly cried.
The tape roll had cracked, and a long piece of tape was stuck to the floor. Lyly stared at the mess in shock. Dung tried not to laugh, but Lyly’s funny expression made him giggle.
Just then, Lyly’s mother walked over and noticed what had happened. She looked at the broken tape roll, then at Lyly.
“Lyly, what happened to my tape?” Mom asked.
Lyly lowered her head and honestly explained that she had only wanted to help Dung fix the board.
Mom sighed, but when she saw how sorry Lyly looked, she softened. “I’m happy you wanted to help,” she said. “But next time, please ask before using my things.”
Lyly nodded quickly. Together, they cleaned up the tape and found another way to repair the board.
In the end, Dung thanked Lyly for trying to help. Lyly smiled proudly—but she also learned an important lesson: helping others is wonderful, but asking permission first is even better! 😄🐒
