It was a quiet afternoon, and the warm sunshine made the garden feel peaceful and relaxing. After spending the morning helping water the flowers and tidy the yard, little monkey LYLY looked tired. Seeing this, her mother smiled and suggested they enjoy a relaxing massage to help them unwind.
LYLY happily agreed. She spread a soft blanket under a shady tree while Mom brought a small bottle of gentle massage oil with a pleasant fruity scent. Birds chirped in the trees, and a cool breeze made the afternoon even more comfortable.
Mom began gently massaging LYLY’s shoulders and back. At first, LYLY smiled with her eyes closed, enjoying every moment. She giggled whenever Mom tickled her a little by accident, and everything seemed calm.
Then, without any warning, LYLY suddenly jumped to her feet.
Before Mom could ask what was happening, LYLY dashed across the garden as fast as she could. She ran past the vegetable patch, around the fruit trees, and behind the little tool shed.
“LYLY!” Mom called, completely confused. “Where are you going?”
Wondering if something had frightened her daughter, Mom quickly followed. She searched around the yard until she finally spotted LYLY crouching behind a large banana plant.
When Mom reached her, she noticed that LYLY wasn’t scared at all. Instead, she was smiling and pointing excitedly toward a tiny kitten stuck inside a small cardboard box near the garden fence.
“I heard soft meowing while you were giving me a massage,” LYLY explained. “I wanted to help right away.”
Mom looked inside the box and saw the frightened kitten trying to climb out. Together, they gently lifted the little kitten to safety. Mom checked carefully to make sure it wasn’t injured, then gave it some fresh water and a little food.
The kitten quickly became calm and happily purred beside LYLY.
Mom smiled warmly and hugged her daughter. “Now I understand why you ran away so suddenly. I’m proud that you wanted to help, but next time, please tell me first so I won’t worry.”
LYLY nodded with a shy smile. “I’m sorry, Mom. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
The two of them carried the kitten home together and made a cozy place for it to rest until they could find its family.
Later that evening, they finished their relaxing massage while the rescued kitten slept peacefully nearby. Mom realized that LYLY’s kind heart had turned a confusing moment into a wonderful act of compassion. LYLY also learned that even when rushing to help someone, it’s important to let loved ones know where you’re going so they won’t be left worried.
