Monkey LYLY Wasn’t Very Interested in Her Mother’s Leftovers Because They Were So Bad
One sunny afternoon, little Monkey LYLY came home after spending hours playing outside. She had been running around the garden, climbing trees, and chasing butterflies. By the time she returned, she was feeling very hungry and excited for lunch.
When LYLY entered the kitchen, she noticed that her mother had already finished eating. There wasn’t much food left on the table. Her mother smiled and said, “Don’t worry, LYLY. You can have what’s left from my meal.”
At first, LYLY was happy to hear that there was still food available. She quickly climbed onto her chair and looked at the plate. However, the moment she saw the leftovers, her excitement disappeared.
The vegetables looked soggy, the rice had become cold, and the fruit pieces were slightly mashed. LYLY wrinkled her nose and stared at the plate with a confused expression. She carefully picked up a small piece of food and sniffed it.
Her mother laughed and encouraged her to give it a try.
LYLY took a tiny bite, but immediately made the funniest face. She slowly chewed while looking disappointed. It wasn’t fresh, warm, or tasty like the meals she usually enjoyed.
She pushed the plate away and crossed her little arms. Then she looked at her mother as if to say, “You expect me to eat this?”
The sight was so adorable that everyone nearby burst into laughter.
Not wanting her daughter to stay hungry, LYLY’s mother decided to prepare something fresh. She sliced some sweet bananas, peeled a juicy mango, and added LYLY’s favorite snacks to a clean plate.
The moment LYLY saw the colorful meal, her eyes lit up with excitement. She quickly forgot about the leftovers and happily began eating. With every bite, she looked more cheerful.
Her mother gently reminded her that food should never be wasted and that everyone should appreciate what they have. LYLY listened carefully and nodded.
By the end of lunch, LYLY was full, happy, and ready for another adventure. Although she wasn’t interested in the old leftovers, she learned an important lesson about gratitude and respecting food.
