Early one quiet morning, the whole house was still asleep. The sun had only just started shining through the windows, and everything felt peaceful. But little Monkey Lyly had already opened her eyes and was full of energy. She stretched her tiny arms, looked around the room, and suddenly remembered something very important.
Mom was still sleeping!
Usually, Mom woke Lyly up every morning, but today Lyly decided she wanted to wake Mom up instead. However, she did not choose an ordinary way to do it. What happened next made everyone burst out laughing.
Lyly quietly climbed off the bed and tiptoed toward her mother. At first, she tried gently patting Mom’s arm with her tiny hand.
“Mom… wake up,” she whispered softly.
But Mom was sleeping deeply and did not move at all.
Lyly thought for a moment, then smiled mischievously. She quickly grabbed her favorite little toy drum from the corner of the room. Climbing back onto the bed, she sat right beside Mom’s pillow and started tapping the drum very slowly.
“Boom… boom… boom…”
Mom only turned over and continued sleeping.
That was when Lyly came up with an even funnier idea. She leaned very close to Mom’s ear and began making silly monkey noises as loudly as she could.
“Ooh ooh! Ahh ahh!”
Mom’s eyes suddenly flew open in complete surprise. She sat up so quickly that Lyly fell backward onto the blanket laughing uncontrollably. For a second, Mom looked confused, but when she saw Lyly holding the toy drum with a huge grin on her face, she could not stop laughing too.
The funny scene became even better when Dad walked into the room to see what all the noise was about. He found Lyly proudly beating the drum again while Mom laughed until tears filled her eyes.
“You really have your own special alarm clock,” Dad joked.
Lyly clapped happily, proud of her successful mission. From that morning on, everyone remembered Lyly’s unique way of waking her mother up. It was impossible not to laugh at the adorable little monkey and her playful personality. Even Mom admitted that although the surprise nearly scared her awake, it became one of the funniest and happiest mornings the family had ever shared together.
