Monkey Xuka woke up early in the morning when he heard tiny squealing sounds coming from the pigpen. Rubbing his sleepy eyes, he ran outside and discovered that the baby piglets were hungry and making a big mess. His father was already cleaning the pen and carrying buckets of fresh water.
“Good morning, Xuka!” Dad smiled. “Today we need to take care of the piglets and prepare a healthy Indian vegetable soup for lunch.”
Xuka became excited immediately. He loved helping his father with farm work, especially when cooking delicious meals afterward. First, he grabbed a tiny broom and carefully swept the pigpen floor. The piglets ran around playfully, sometimes bumping into Xuka’s legs and making him laugh loudly.
One naughty piglet escaped through a small gap in the fence and sprinted toward the vegetable garden. “Hey! Come back!” Xuka shouted as he chased after it. The piglet zigzagged between rows of carrots and tomatoes while Xuka slipped in the muddy soil. SPLASH! He fell face-first into a puddle, covering himself in mud from head to toe.
Dad could not stop laughing when he saw muddy little Xuka holding the runaway piglet in his arms. Even Xuka laughed at himself before placing the piglet safely back inside the pen.
After feeding the piglets warm milk and vegetables, it was finally time to cook lunch. Dad brought out potatoes, carrots, onions, spinach, and Indian spices with wonderful smells. Xuka helped wash and cut the vegetables carefully. Dad taught him how to stir the soup slowly while adding curry powder, garlic, and fresh herbs into the pot.
Soon, the delicious aroma spread across the entire house. The piglets outside seemed curious too, sniffing the air excitedly. Xuka proudly tasted the soup and smiled happily. “Wow! This is the best soup ever!”
When lunchtime arrived, the whole family gathered together to enjoy the warm Indian vegetable soup. Dad patted Xuka gently on the head. “You worked very hard today,” he said proudly.
Xuka felt warm inside hearing those words. Even though the day had been messy and tiring, he was happy to help care for the piglets and cook a healthy meal with his father. It became one of his favorite farm adventures ever.
