The sun had just started to shine brightly when little Monkey Zika woke up early and rushed outside to play. As he ran across the yard, he noticed Dad carrying a large basket toward the vegetable garden. Curious as always, Zika quickly followed behind him.
“Dad, what are you doing?” Zika asked excitedly.
Dad smiled warmly and pointed toward the tall green bean plants growing beside the fence. “Tonight we are cooking green beans for dinner, and I need some help harvesting them,” he said.
The moment Zika heard the word “help,” his eyes sparkled with excitement. He loved spending time in the garden with Dad. Without wasting another second, the little monkey grabbed a tiny basket and hurried into the rows of plants.
The green bean vines were hanging everywhere, filled with long fresh beans ready to be picked. Dad carefully showed Zika how to harvest them gently without damaging the plants. Zika watched very carefully and tried his best to copy every movement.
At first, the silly little monkey accidentally pulled too hard and nearly fell backward into the dirt. Dad burst out laughing while Zika sat on the ground looking surprised. Soon, both of them were laughing together.
After learning the right way, Zika became very focused. He carefully picked the biggest and freshest green beans and proudly placed them into his basket one by one. Sometimes he held up extra-long beans like they were giant prizes. “Look, Dad! This one is bigger than my arm!” he shouted happily.
As the morning went on, the basket slowly filled with beautiful green beans. Zika worked very hard, even though his tiny hands became tired. Dad was proud to see how helpful and responsible his little monkey had become.
When they finally finished harvesting, Dad thanked Zika with a big hug. Together, they carried the vegetables back to the kitchen where Mom was already preparing dinner. The delicious smell of cooking soon filled the whole house.
That evening, everyone sat together enjoying the fresh green bean meal. Zika smiled proudly with every bite because he knew he had helped grow and harvest the food himself. For the little monkey, it was not just dinner — it was a special memory shared with Dad in the warm family garden.
