It was a warm and peaceful morning when Mother went outside to check on the durian trees. She expected to find Abu and Baby Monkey playing somewhere around the garden, but when she looked toward the durian orchard, she couldn’t believe her eyes.
Abu and Baby Monkey were busy harvesting durians!
Mother stopped and watched them carefully. Abu was carrying a large basket while Baby Monkey followed closely behind. Together, they were working like a little team.
“Wow! What are you two doing?” Mother asked in surprise.
Abu smiled and pointed toward the durian trees. Several ripe durians had fallen onto the grass, and they needed to be collected before they became damaged.
But then Mother noticed something unusual.
Baby Monkey wasn’t simply picking up the durians. He had found a clever way to help Abu. Whenever a durian fell from the tree, Baby Monkey quickly ran over, pushed it away from the tree, and rolled it toward the basket.
One durian was particularly large. Baby Monkey tried to move it, but it was much too heavy. He pushed with both hands, stopped to catch his breath, and then tried again.
Abu noticed his effort and came over to help. Together, they carefully rolled the giant durian across the grass.
Mother couldn’t stop smiling.
“You two are amazing!” she said.
Baby Monkey seemed very proud of himself. He climbed onto the basket and watched as Abu placed the harvested durians inside.
Soon, the basket was almost full.
Mother walked closer and discovered that Abu had created a simple system. Abu gathered the durians while Baby Monkey helped move the smaller ones into one place. It made the work much faster and easier.
After finishing, they sat beneath a shady tree to rest.
Mother brought them some fresh water and smiled proudly.
“I never expected to see you two working together like this,” she said.
Baby Monkey happily reached for a drink while Abu laughed.
The morning had started like any ordinary day, but Mother had witnessed something special. Abu and Baby Monkey had shown that even a small helper could make a big difference.
