After getting caught sneaking a chicken egg in the previous adventure, little Monkey Zika felt embarrassed. He realized that taking something without asking was wrong, even if he was only curious. Instead of making excuses, Zika decided it was time to earn the eggs honestly.
Early the next morning, Dad gave Zika a small basket and brought him to the family’s bell pepper garden. The green, red, and yellow peppers were ripe and ready to be picked. Dad smiled and said, “If you work hard today, we’ll trade these fresh bell peppers for eggs from the farmer next door.”
Zika’s eyes lit up with excitement. “Really? Then I’ll pick the biggest and freshest peppers!” he replied.
He carefully searched through the plants, gently twisting each ripe bell pepper from its stem without damaging the branches. Whenever he found a shiny, colorful pepper, he proudly placed it into his basket. Before long, the basket was overflowing with beautiful vegetables.
After finishing the harvest, Zika and Dad carried the basket to their friendly neighbor’s chicken farm. The farmer was impressed by the fresh, healthy bell peppers.
“These look wonderful!” the farmer said with a smile. “I’d be happy to trade them for some fresh eggs.”
The farmer carefully placed a carton of clean eggs into Zika’s hands. This time, Zika accepted them with a grateful smile instead of secretly taking one. He thanked the farmer politely and promised to visit again after the next harvest.
On the way home, Dad praised Zika for making the right choice.
“You earned these eggs through your hard work,” Dad said. “That makes them much more valuable.”
Zika nodded proudly. He understood that being honest and hardworking felt much better than taking shortcuts.
Back home, Mom used the fresh eggs to cook a delicious omelet filled with the bell peppers Zika had harvested. The whole family gathered around the table to enjoy the colorful meal together. As they laughed and shared stories, Zika happily told everyone what he had learned.
From that day on, Zika never forgot the lesson. Whenever he wanted something, he remembered that honesty, kindness, and hard work always bring the sweetest rewards. His funny egg adventure had turned into an important life lesson, proving that doing the right thing can lead to even greater happiness—and everyone couldn’t wait to see what adventure Zika would have next.
