One quiet afternoon, the family suddenly realized that baby monkey Zika was nowhere to be found. Just a few minutes earlier, the playful little monkey had been sitting near the front yard eating bananas and playing with his favorite toy. But now the yard was completely empty. At first, everyone thought Zika was simply hiding somewhere nearby as part of one of his usual mischievous games.
His uncle searched behind the trees while Aunt checked inside the kitchen and bedrooms. Mom called Zika’s name repeatedly, hoping to hear his cheerful little voice answer back. However, there was only silence. Slowly, worry began spreading across everyone’s faces. The family started to panic as they realized Zika may have wandered far away from home all by himself.
Earlier that day, Zika had been gently scolded after making a mess while trying to help prepare lunch. The sensitive little monkey looked sad afterward and quietly sat alone in the corner. No one expected that he would suddenly leave the house because of it.
The family quickly split up and searched around the neighborhood. Some neighbors joined the search after hearing the news. Everyone looked under bridges, near the market, and along the small village paths. As time passed, Mom became more emotional and blamed herself for upsetting the little monkey.
Meanwhile, Zika had actually wandered toward a nearby field. At first, he felt brave and independent, happily exploring the outside world alone. But as the sky slowly became darker, the tiny monkey began feeling scared and lonely. Strange sounds from insects and moving leaves frightened him. Zika hugged himself tightly and softly cried while sitting beside a tree.
Luckily, a neighbor riding a bicycle noticed the frightened baby monkey sitting alone near the field. Recognizing Zika immediately, the kind neighbor carefully picked him up and brought him home.
The moment Zika returned, his family rushed toward him with relief and joy. Mom hugged him tightly while tears filled her eyes. Zika also clung to her as if he never wanted to let go again. Although the little monkey had only been gone for a short time, the experience frightened everyone deeply.
That emotional day became an important lesson for Zika and his family. They realized how much they loved and needed each other. From then on, the family became even more patient and caring, making sure little Zika always felt safe, loved, and understood at home.
