It was a peaceful afternoon at home, and CUTIS was happily organizing his favorite things. Among all his little treasures, there was one item he loved more than anything else—his special piggy bank.
CUTIS had been saving coins inside it for a long time. Every time Dad gave him a few coins after helping with chores, CUTIS carefully placed them inside. He dreamed of saving enough money to buy something special for the family someday.
That afternoon, CUTIS proudly showed his piggy bank to Yen Nhi.
“Look how much I’ve saved!” CUTIS seemed to say with a big smile.
Yen Nhi was impressed and carefully held the piggy bank while CUTIS went to get something else. She wanted to help him put it somewhere safe, but unfortunately, something unexpected happened.
As Yen Nhi moved the piggy bank, her hand accidentally slipped.
CRASH!
The piggy bank fell onto the floor and broke into several pieces.
Yen Nhi immediately froze.
“Oh no!”
Coins rolled everywhere across the floor. Yen Nhi looked shocked and worried. She knew how much CUTIS loved that piggy bank and how hard he had worked to save those coins.
When CUTIS came back and saw what happened, he stopped in his tracks.
His eyes became wide.
For a moment, he didn’t know what to do. His precious piggy bank was broken!
Yen Nhi quickly ran over and gently hugged CUTIS. She looked very sorry and tried to explain that it had been a complete accident.
CUTIS looked at the broken pieces, then looked at Yen Nhi. Surprisingly, instead of getting angry, he seemed to understand that she hadn’t done it on purpose.
Dad arrived after hearing the noise and helped them collect all the scattered coins. Together, they counted every coin and discovered that none of CUTIS’ savings had been lost.
That made CUTIS smile again.
Dad then had a wonderful idea. He suggested that CUTIS and Yen Nhi decorate a new piggy bank together. They found a new container and spent the afternoon making it colorful and special.
Yen Nhi promised to be more careful next time, while CUTIS happily placed his saved coins into the new piggy bank.
In the end, the accident became a beautiful lesson about forgiveness, patience, and friendship.
