It was a peaceful afternoon in the forest, and everyone was enjoying the warm sunshine. Mom was busy preparing fresh fruit for lunch while little Baby Abu played happily in the yard. Older Monkey Abu watched his tiny sibling with a playful grin, thinking of a fun surprise adventure.
“Come on, Baby Abu! Let’s go explore!” he whispered with excitement.
Baby Abu giggled and eagerly followed his big brother down the little forest path. They crossed a tiny wooden bridge, admired colorful butterflies, and stopped to pick pretty wildflowers. Neither of them realized how far they had wandered from home.
A few minutes later, Mom carried a basket of fruit outside and looked around for the two little monkeys. The yard was empty.
“Abu? Baby Abu?” she called.
Silence.
Mom’s heart skipped a beat. She searched behind the trees, checked the garden, and looked inside the little playhouse, but there was no sign of them. Growing more worried with every second, she hurried down the forest trail, calling their names again and again.
Meanwhile, Abu proudly showed Baby Abu a sparkling stream where tiny fish swam through the clear water. Baby Abu clapped happily, completely unaware that Mom was searching everywhere in a panic.
Suddenly, Abu heard Mom’s voice echoing through the trees.
“Oh no! Mom is looking for us!” he said, realizing they had left without telling her.
Holding Baby Abu’s tiny hand, Abu quickly headed back toward home. Before they could reach the yard, Mom spotted them from a distance. She ran as fast as she could, tears of relief filling her eyes.
The moment she reached them, Mom gently hugged both little monkeys as tightly as she could.
“I was so worried,” she said softly. “You must always tell me before going anywhere.”
Abu lowered his head and apologized. “I only wanted to show Baby Abu something beautiful. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
Mom smiled kindly, knowing his heart was in the right place. She explained that adventures are much safer when the whole family knows where everyone is.
Together, they walked home hand in hand, laughing as Baby Abu proudly showed Mom the flowers they had collected. From that day on, Abu always remembered to ask permission before every new adventure, making every family outing both fun and safe.
