It started as an ordinary morning, with sunlight gently pouring into the little house. Mom was busy preparing breakfast, expecting the usual playful chaos from Lyly. But today, something felt… different. The house was unusually quiet. No giggles, no running footsteps—just silence.
Curious, Mom wiped her hands and stepped into the living room. What she saw made her freeze in place.
Lyly, the mischievous little monkey who usually left toys scattered everywhere, was carefully wiping the table with a cloth. Her tiny face looked serious and focused, as if she were on an important mission. Every now and then, she would pause, tilt her head, and inspect her work before continuing.
“Lyly… what are you doing?” Mom asked, barely able to hide her surprise.
Lyly turned around with a proud smile. Instead of answering, she pointed at the floor. Mom followed her finger—and gasped. The toys were neatly arranged, books stacked perfectly, and even the cushions were placed just right.
“Oh. My. Goodness.”
Before Mom could say another word, Lyly hurried off to the kitchen. She dragged a small stool across the floor, climbed up carefully, and began wiping the counter. She even tried to rinse a sponge, splashing a bit of water in the process—but her determination never faded.
Mom stood there, shaking her head in disbelief, a smile slowly spreading across her face. This was the same Lyly who once hid snacks under the couch and refused to clean up after herself!
After a few minutes, Lyly jumped down and ran to Mom, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She raised her arms as if to say, “Did I do a good job?”
Mom knelt down and hugged her tightly. “You did amazing, Lyly. I’m so proud of you.”
Lyly giggled happily, clearly pleased with herself. Even though some spots were still a little messy, the effort she put in made all the difference.
As Mom looked around the room once more, she couldn’t help but laugh softly. Lyly’s “cleaning skills” might not be perfect—but they were definitely unforgettable.
And just like that, the little troublemaker had turned into the cutest helper ever… at least for today.
