It was a bright morning in the little forest, but Monkey Lyly was not in a cheerful mood. She had woken up late, and her tummy was already rumbling loudly. “I’m so hungry!” Lyly groaned, holding her belly as she rushed toward the small table where her mother had prepared breakfast.
The delicious smell of warm rice and sweet bananas filled the air. Lyly’s eyes sparkled with excitement. Without waiting, she quickly climbed onto her chair and grabbed the bowl. “Yummy! I can’t wait!” she said, her voice full of eagerness.
But Lyly was in such a hurry that she forgot to be careful.
As she scooped a big spoonful of food, her hand slipped. “Oh no!” The bowl tilted, and before she could stop it, the food spilled all over the table and onto the floor. Rice scattered everywhere, and the bananas rolled away.
Lyly froze. Her heart sank as she looked at the mess she had made. “I… I didn’t mean to,” she whispered, her eyes filling with tears.
Just then, her mother walked in. She looked at the spilled food and then at Lyly’s worried face. For a moment, Lyly thought she would be scolded.
But instead, her mother sighed gently and knelt beside her. “Lyly, I know you were hungry,” she said softly. “But when we rush too much, accidents can happen.”
Lyly sniffed and nodded. “I’m sorry, Mom. I was just so hungry…”
Her mother smiled kindly. “It’s okay. Let’s clean this up together, and I’ll prepare another meal. But next time, remember to slow down, alright?”
Lyly wiped her tears and gave a small smile. “Okay, Mom. I’ll be more careful.”
Together, they cleaned the table and floor. Soon, a new bowl of food was ready. This time, Lyly took a deep breath, held her spoon carefully, and ate slowly.
“Much better,” her mother said with a proud smile.
Lyly giggled. Even though she had made a mistake, she learned something important that day—and her breakfast somehow tasted even more delicious.
