One quiet evening, baby monkey Zika was not his usual cheerful and energetic self. Instead of running around the yard and playing with his favorite toys, he lay quietly on the bed with tired eyes and a weak expression. His family immediately noticed that something was wrong.
His uncle gently touched Zika’s forehead and became shocked. “Oh no! Zika has a very high fever!” he said with worry. Zika’s tiny face looked red, and his body felt extremely hot. He slowly opened his eyes and whispered, “I feel cold and tired…”
The whole family quickly gathered around him. Auntie brought a soft blanket while Dad hurried to prepare cool water and a clean towel. Everyone felt nervous because they had never seen little Zika this sick before.
Dad carefully placed the cool towel on Zika’s forehead to help lower his temperature. Meanwhile, Auntie prepared warm soup and fresh water to keep him hydrated. Even though Zika did not feel like eating much, his family encouraged him gently so he could regain some strength.
As the fever continued, the family became more concerned. Uncle immediately decided it was best to take Zika to the doctor. He wrapped Zika carefully in a warm blanket and carried him lovingly to the nearby clinic. During the ride, Zika held tightly onto his uncle’s hand because he felt weak and uncomfortable.
At the clinic, the doctor examined Zika carefully and smiled kindly at the worried family. “Don’t panic,” the doctor said. “Zika has a strong fever from catching a cold, but he will recover soon with proper medicine, rest, and care.”
The family finally felt relieved after hearing the doctor’s explanation. They brought Zika back home and stayed beside him all night. Dad checked his temperature regularly while Auntie continued giving him warm soup and medicine on time.
After a few days of rest and loving care, little Zika slowly became healthy again. His smile returned, and he happily ran around the house once more. The scary experience reminded the whole family how important love, care, and quick action are when someone gets sick.
