Early one sunny morning, monkey Zika woke up full of energy when he heard loud chirping sounds coming from the backyard. He quickly ran outside and saw Dad standing beside a small wooden pen filled with adorable yellow ducklings. The tiny ducks waddled around clumsily while making cute “quack quack” noises. Zika’s eyes widened with excitement immediately.
Dad smiled warmly and said, “Today we need to take care of the ducklings carefully. Can you help me, Zika?”
The smart little monkey nodded happily and jumped up and down. He loved helping Dad with the animals on their small farm. Without wasting any time, Zika grabbed a tiny bucket and followed Dad to prepare breakfast for the ducklings.
First, Dad showed Zika how to mix crushed corn, grains, and fresh water into small feeding trays. Zika copied every step carefully. Although some grains accidentally spilled onto the ground, the ducklings quickly rushed over to peck at them, making Zika laugh loudly.
After feeding time, Dad cleaned the duck pen while Zika gently guided the ducklings into the sunshine. The tiny ducks followed behind him in a funny little line as if Zika were their mother. Seeing this made Dad burst into laughter.
Suddenly, one curious duckling wandered too far away toward a muddy puddle near the garden. Noticing the danger immediately, smart Zika quickly ran after it. He carefully picked up the frightened duckling and carried it safely back to the group. Dad proudly praised him for being so attentive and responsible.
Later, the weather became hotter, so Zika helped place a shallow tub of water near the pen. The ducklings happily splashed around while flapping their tiny wings. Some even sprayed water onto Zika’s face, making him squeal with surprise before laughing again.
As the sun slowly began to set, the tired ducklings gathered together quietly inside their warm pen. Zika carefully closed the little gate to keep them safe during the night. Dad gently patted Zika’s shoulder and smiled proudly.
“You did an amazing job today,” Dad said. “The ducklings are happy because of your care.”
Hearing those words filled Zika with joy. That day, the clever little monkey learned that taking care of small animals required patience, kindness, and responsibility — and he was proud to help protect his tiny feathered friends.
