So Caring! CUTIS Worries About Mom’s Back Pain—What Will He Do

One calm afternoon, CUTIS was playing in the living room when he noticed something unusual. Mom, who was usually full of energy, moved much more slowly than normal. As she bent down to pick up a basket of laundry, she suddenly placed a hand on her lower back and let out a soft sigh.

CUTIS immediately stopped playing and looked worried.
“Mom, are you okay?” he asked, running over to her.

Mom smiled gently, though she still looked uncomfortable. “I’m alright, sweetheart. My back just hurts a little from doing too much work today.”

Hearing that made CUTIS’s little heart fill with concern. He didn’t like seeing Mom in pain, especially after everything she did for the family every day. He wanted to help somehow, even if he was still small.

For a moment, CUTIS thought very hard. Then his eyes lit up with an idea.

First, he quickly brought Mom a soft pillow and placed it carefully on the sofa. “Please sit here and rest,” he said sweetly.

Mom was touched by his kindness and sat down with a warm smile.

But CUTIS wasn’t finished yet.

He hurried to the kitchen and carefully filled a cup with warm water, remembering that Mom often said warm drinks helped her feel better. Then he returned and handed it to her with both hands.

“Thank you, my little helper,” Mom said, feeling her heart melt.

Still worried about her back pain, CUTIS decided to do even more. He gathered the scattered toys from the floor, folded the light blanket on the chair, and even tried carrying the small laundry basket so Mom wouldn’t need to bend again.

Seeing this, Dad came in and smiled proudly. He praised CUTIS for being so thoughtful and helped by giving Mom a gentle back massage.

Soon Mom was resting comfortably while CUTIS sat beside her, making funny faces to keep her smiling.

By evening, Mom’s back felt much better—not only because of the rest, but because of the love and care CUTIS had shown.

That day, CUTIS proved that even the smallest acts of kindness can bring the biggest comfort to someone you love.
