It was a bright and peaceful morning when CUTIS overheard Dad and Buem talking about an upcoming trip. They were planning to leave early the next day and spend several days away from home. While Dad and Buem were excited about their adventure, CUTIS felt a little sad knowing he would miss them.
However, instead of feeling lonely, CUTIS decided to do something special.
“I want to help Dad and Buem get ready for their trip!” he said with determination.
Without wasting any time, CUTIS grabbed a notebook and began making a list of things they might need. He carefully wrote down clothes, snacks, water bottles, hats, and other travel essentials. Even though he was still young, he wanted everything to be perfect.
Next, CUTIS went around the house collecting items from the list. He folded clothes neatly and placed them beside the travel bags. He even helped prepare some delicious snacks so Dad and Buem would have something tasty to eat during their journey.
When Buem saw what CUTIS was doing, she smiled warmly.
“You’re working so hard for us,” she said.
CUTIS grinned proudly. “I want you both to have a wonderful trip!”
As the afternoon passed, he continued helping in every way he could. He checked the bags twice to make sure nothing was forgotten. He also packed a small surprise—a handwritten note filled with kind words and drawings.
The note said:
“Have a safe trip! I will miss you very much. Please take care of yourselves and come home soon. I love you!”
The next morning, Dad and Buem were touched when they discovered the note inside their luggage.
Before leaving, Dad knelt down and hugged CUTIS tightly.
“Thank you for all your help,” Dad said. “You made our trip even more special.”
Buem gave him a big hug too.
CUTIS waved happily as they drove away. Although he already missed them, his heart felt full of joy because he had shown how much he cared.
Sometimes, the smallest acts of love and kindness can make a journey unforgettable, and CUTIS proved that with his thoughtful preparations for Dad and Buem’s trip.
