One peaceful morning, little monkey Lily walked happily down the village road carrying a small basket filled with fresh red apples. Her mother had asked her to bring the apples home after visiting the market nearby. Lily was very excited because apples were her favorite fruit, and she could already imagine enjoying them later with her family.
As she skipped along the dusty path, Lily noticed many people busy with their daily activities. Some were watering plants, while others were selling vegetables beside the road. Lily smiled politely at everyone she passed, swinging her basket carefully in her tiny hands.
After walking for a while, Lily suddenly saw an old woman sitting quietly beneath a tree. The woman looked tired and weak. Beside her was an empty bag and a small bottle of water. She seemed to have been resting there for a long time under the warm afternoon sun.
Curious and concerned, Lily slowly walked closer. The old woman smiled gently but looked hungry. Lily noticed the woman staring at the apples in the basket for just a second before quickly looking away. At that moment, Lily’s cheerful face became thoughtful.
Without hesitation, Lily sat beside the woman and opened her basket. She picked out the biggest and reddest apples and placed them gently into the woman’s hands. The old woman looked completely surprised. “Are these really for me?” she asked softly.

Soon, other villagers passing by noticed the touching moment. They praised Lily for having such a caring heart at such a young age. Some people even offered additional food and water to help the elderly woman.
