Early one sunny morning, little monkey Lily noticed her dad sitting quietly outside the house looking tired and worried. Usually, Dad was cheerful and full of energy, but today his face looked serious. Lily slowly walked over and asked softly, “Dad, what’s wrong?”
Dad smiled gently and patted her head. “I’m just thinking about work and how to earn enough money for the family,” he explained.
Hearing those words made Lily feel emotional. She loved her dad very much and wanted to help him somehow. As she looked toward the backyard, she suddenly noticed the big mango tree filled with ripe golden mangoes hanging from every branch. An idea quickly popped into her mind.
“I can help Dad!” Lily whispered excitedly.
Without wasting any time, the little monkey grabbed a basket and hurried toward the mango tree. The branches were tall, but Lily was small, quick, and excellent at climbing. She carefully climbed higher and higher, reaching for the sweetest mangoes she could find.
One by one, the juicy mangoes dropped gently into the basket below. Lily worked very hard under the warm sun, even wiping sweat from her tiny face. Sometimes she nearly slipped on the branches, but she stayed brave and focused because she wanted to support her dad.
After filling several baskets with beautiful ripe mangoes, Lily carried them proudly to the local market with Dad. The bright yellow fruit immediately caught everyone’s attention. Customers gathered around, amazed by how fresh and delicious the mangoes looked.
“Wow, these mangoes are perfect!” one customer said happily.
Soon, almost all the mangoes were sold. Dad looked surprised as he counted the money they earned together. He turned toward Lily with tears shining in his eyes.
“You worked so hard just to help me,” Dad said emotionally.
Lily smiled sweetly and hugged him tightly. “I want you to be happy, Dad,” she replied.
People at the market were touched by the little monkey’s kindness and determination. Many praised Lily for being such a loving daughter who cared deeply about her family.
That evening, the family shared a delicious dinner together while laughing and smiling happily. Dad felt proud of Lily’s hardworking spirit, and Lily felt warm inside knowing she had helped support her father. From that day on, everyone remembered the sweet little monkey who picked mangoes with love to help her dad during difficult times.
