Sunny and Lucky were two playful little monkeys who loved exploring and getting into funny situations. One afternoon, Mom was busy cleaning the house, so she asked them to stay nearby and behave themselves.
The two little monkeys nodded innocently.
But as soon as Mom walked into another room, Sunny looked at Lucky with a mischievous smile.
“I have an idea,” Sunny seemed to say.
Lucky became curious and followed Sunny toward the backyard. They had noticed something interesting earlier that morning—a basket filled with fresh fruit sitting near the kitchen.
The two monkeys quietly approached the basket. Sunny carefully looked around while Lucky picked up a banana.
They giggled and carried the fruit toward a quiet corner of the garden. Their plan was simple: enjoy a secret snack before Mom noticed.
But then Sunny spotted something even more tempting—a small container of fruit treats that Mom had prepared for later.
Lucky’s eyes became wide with excitement.
They decided to take just a little.
Unfortunately, their “little” snack quickly turned into a messy adventure. A banana was opened, several pieces of fruit rolled across the ground, and one of the treats accidentally fell into a flowerpot.
Sunny and Lucky tried to clean everything up, but they only made the mess bigger.
Suddenly, they heard footsteps.
Both monkeys froze.
Mom appeared at the garden entrance.
She looked at the scattered fruit, the open basket, and the two guilty-looking monkeys.
“Sunny! Lucky! What happened here?” Mom asked.
The two monkeys looked at each other nervously. They tried to hide the banana behind their backs, but it was already too late.
Mom had caught them red-handed!
Sunny lowered his head while Lucky slowly placed the banana on the ground. They both realized that their secret plan had not gone very well.
Instead of becoming angry, Mom calmly explained that they should always ask before taking food. She also reminded them that making a mess meant they had to help clean it up.
Sunny and Lucky immediately got to work.
They picked up the fruit, cleaned the garden, and returned the remaining food to the basket. After everything was tidy again, Mom gave them a small portion of fruit as a proper snack.
Sunny and Lucky smiled.
Their secret adventure had turned into an important lesson: having fun is great, but being honest and asking permission is even better!
