One sunny afternoon, the kitchen was filled with the sweet smell of butter and vanilla. Mom had decided to bake cupcakes for the family, and little CUTIS was excited to help.
Wearing a tiny apron that looked much too big for him, CUTIS stood proudly beside Mom on a small chair. He carefully held a spoon while Mom mixed the cake batter in a large bowl.
“Can I help too?” CUTIS asked eagerly.
Mom smiled warmly. “Of course! But don’t make a mess.”
CUTIS nodded seriously, trying his best to act like a professional baker. He slowly poured flour into the bowl, but a big cloud of white powder suddenly exploded everywhere — all over the counter, the floor, and even his face!
At that exact moment, little Yen Nhu walked into the kitchen.
She stopped immediately and stared at CUTIS with wide eyes.
For a second, the room became completely silent.
Then Yen Nhu burst into adorable laughter.
“CUTIS looks like a snowman!” she giggled while pointing at his flour-covered cheeks.
CUTIS looked confused at first, but when Mom handed him a mirror, he started laughing too. Even his tiny nose had turned white from the flour.
Yen Nhu quickly climbed onto a chair beside him, wanting to join the fun. Soon, both children were helping Mom mix chocolate chips into the batter while sneaking little tastes whenever Mom looked away.
But the cutest moment happened when Mom finally placed the cupcakes into the oven.
Yen Nhu sat quietly in front of the oven door beside CUTIS, watching the cupcakes slowly rise. Her eyes sparkled with excitement as if she were watching magic happen.
“They’re growing!” Yen Nhu whispered happily.
When the cupcakes were finally ready, the whole kitchen smelled delicious. CUTIS proudly gave the first cupcake to Yen Nhu.
Instead of eating it immediately, Yen Nhu hugged CUTIS tightly and said, “You’re the best baker ever!”
Hearing those sweet words made CUTIS smile proudly while Mom watched both children with a heart full of love.
It was not just baking cupcakes that day — it became a beautiful memory filled with laughter, flour, and family happiness.
