One bright morning, Mom stood in front of the mirror getting ready to go out. She brushed her hair, picked a nice outfit, and added a little perfume. It was supposed to be a simple trip to the market, but someone in the house had other plans—CUTIS.
As soon as CUTIS noticed Mom putting on her shoes and grabbing her bag, his eyes widened. He knew exactly what that meant. Mom was leaving the house! CUTIS quickly ran over and stood right in front of the door like a tiny guard. With his little arms stretched wide, he made it very clear—Mom was not going anywhere without him.
Mom laughed and gently tried to step around him, but CUTIS followed every move she made. When she picked up her keys, CUTIS gasped dramatically and covered his face like it was the saddest moment of his life. Then he looked at Mom with big pleading eyes, hoping she would change her mind.
Mom knelt down and explained that she would only be gone for a short while. But CUTIS wasn’t convinced. He grabbed onto her leg and held tight, refusing to let go. His funny little protest made everyone in the room burst out laughing.
Then CUTIS came up with a clever idea. If Mom was going out, he needed to get ready too! He rushed away and came back wearing a tiny hat and carrying a small bag. He proudly stood next to Mom, ready for their “trip” together.
Seeing CUTIS so determined and adorable, Mom couldn’t help but laugh. She hugged him and promised to bring back his favorite snack from the market. After a little more convincing—and a big cuddle—CUTIS finally agreed to let Mom go.
As Mom walked out the door, CUTIS stood by the window watching her leave. Even though he still looked a little dramatic, he waved goodbye with a tiny smile.
Mom’s simple trip turned into one of the funniest and sweetest moments of the day, all thanks to CUTIS and his hilarious reaction.
