CUTIS usually loved having fun, playing games, and spending time with his family. But there was one thing he definitely did not enjoy—a routine health checkup.
The moment Mom reminded him that it was checkup day, CUTIS immediately started thinking of ways to avoid it. He wasn’t sick, and he felt perfectly fine, so why did he need to visit the doctor?
After a few minutes of thinking, CUTIS came up with what he believed was a brilliant plan.
“If I’m too busy working, maybe they’ll forget about the checkup!” he thought.
Early the next morning, CUTIS transformed himself into the hardest-working little monkey in town. He grabbed a broom and started sweeping every corner of the house. Then he organized toys, watered plants, folded blankets, and even helped clean the windows.
Mom was surprised.
“Wow, CUTIS! You’re working very hard today,” she said with a smile.
CUTIS nodded proudly. “I’m extremely busy! Lots of important work to do!”
Throughout the morning, he kept finding new tasks. When one job was finished, he immediately invented another. He even carried tiny baskets around the house pretending to transport “important supplies.”
Every time Mom mentioned the checkup, CUTIS quickly pointed to another chore.
“I can’t go now! The plants need me!”
A few minutes later…
“I can’t go now! The toys aren’t organized!”
Then…
“I can’t go now! This blanket needs folding!”
His family could barely keep from laughing.
Finally, Mom gently asked, “CUTIS, are you working so hard because you’re trying to avoid your checkup?”
CUTIS froze.
His eyes widened.
And then everyone burst into laughter.
Caught red-handed, CUTIS slowly lowered his broom and gave a shy smile.
“Maybe… just a little,” he admitted.
Mom gave him a hug and explained that routine checkups help keep him healthy and strong. Once CUTIS understood, he agreed to go.
The checkup turned out to be quick and easy. The doctor said he was healthy and doing great.
On the way home, CUTIS laughed at himself.
His “hardworking trick” had failed completely—but at least he earned the title of the busiest little monkey in the house for one very funny day! 😂🐵❤️
