Early in the morning, the house was still quiet, and everyone was fast asleep. Monkey Lyly, however, was already awake and full of energy. She had gotten herself into a funny little problem and needed help right away. But there was one problem—Mom was still sleeping peacefully under her warm blanket.
Lyly looked around the room, thinking hard about how to wake her mom up. She gently tugged at the blanket, but Mom only turned over and kept sleeping. She softly patted Mom’s arm, yet there was still no response. The silly little monkey started to feel impatient. She needed Mom’s help now!
Then Lyly came up with the funniest idea ever. After playing outside earlier, her little face had become a bit messy and smelly from rolling near some ripe fruit peels. With a mischievous grin, she climbed onto the bed and leaned closer to Mom’s face. Before anyone could guess what she was about to do, Lyly gave Mom the biggest smelly kiss right on the cheek!
Mom’s eyes flew open instantly. “Oh my goodness, Lyly! What are you doing?” she exclaimed, half laughing and half surprised. The unexpected smelly kiss was enough to wake anyone up in seconds. Lyly clapped her tiny hands happily, proud that her clever plan had worked.
Mom soon realized Lyly was trying to ask for help. The little monkey pointed toward the kitchen, where a jar of sweet bananas treats had rolled under the table. Lyly had tried everything to reach it but was too small to grab it by herself. That was why she had been so desperate to wake Mom.
Still giggling from the silly wake-up call, Mom followed Lyly to the kitchen and quickly helped retrieve the jar. Lyly jumped with joy, hugging Mom tightly before reaching for her favorite snack. Mom couldn’t help but laugh at how creative her little monkey had been.
Afterward, Mom gently cleaned Lyly’s messy face and told her, “Next time, maybe use a normal kiss instead of a smelly one!” Lyly only smiled mischievously and snuggled into Mom’s arms. It turned into a hilarious and heartwarming morning that made everyone smile, proving once again that life with Monkey Lyly is always full of surprises.
