Little monkey Xuka was usually the happiest monkey in the family. She loved climbing trees, playing with colorful toys, and following her dad everywhere around the house. Every morning, Xuka would wait excitedly for her dad to wake up so they could eat bananas together and play outside.
One afternoon, Dad came home carrying a big bag filled with delicious fruit snacks. Xuka became very excited and quickly ran toward him with sparkling eyes. She thought Dad had brought something special for her. But instead of calling Xuka first, Dad gave all the snacks to the older monkeys nearby.
Xuka stood quietly in the corner, watching everyone happily eating together. She waited patiently, thinking Dad would save at least one sweet banana treat for her. But after a few minutes, the bag was completely empty.
Dad accidentally forgot about little Xuka.
The tiny monkey’s face slowly changed from excitement to sadness. Her bright smile disappeared, and her eyes filled with tears. She quietly walked away and sat alone beside the garden fence. Even her favorite toy could not cheer her up.
When Dad noticed Xuka missing, he immediately started looking for her. He finally found her sitting silently with her head down. Dad gently sat beside her and asked, “Why are you so quiet today, Xuka?”
At first, Xuka didn’t answer. But after a moment, she softly pointed toward the empty snack bag. Dad suddenly realized what had happened. He felt terrible for forgetting the little monkey who always stayed by his side.
Dad quickly hugged Xuka tightly and apologized. To make her smile again, he brought out a hidden banana cupcake he had saved in the kitchen earlier. Xuka looked surprised and slowly began smiling again.
Dad promised he would never forget her feelings again because she was very special to him.
A few minutes later, Xuka was happily sitting on Dad’s shoulders while eating her cupcake. The sadness disappeared, and laughter once again filled the house. Sometimes even small mistakes can make little hearts feel hurt, but love and care can quickly heal them again.
