What Happened? BUEM Says Sorry to CUTIS for This Mess

The house was unusually quiet—too quiet, in fact. That was the first sign something had gone terribly wrong. CUTIS stepped into the living room and froze. Toys were scattered everywhere, cushions tossed onto the floor, and a mysterious sticky substance covered the table. In the center of it all stood BUEM, wide-eyed and completely still.

“What happened here?” CUTIS asked, trying to stay calm but clearly overwhelmed.

BUEM looked down at the mess, then back at CUTIS. His small hands were covered in what looked like jam, and there were smudges on his cheeks. For a moment, he said nothing. Then, in a soft voice filled with guilt, BUEM whispered, “I’m sorry…”

CUTIS sighed, walking slowly into the room, carefully stepping over the chaos. “Sorry for what, BUEM?” he asked gently.

BUEM hesitated before pointing at the table. “I wanted to make a surprise… like you do,” he explained. “But it didn’t work.”

As CUTIS got closer, he realized what had happened. BUEM had tried to prepare a snack—bread, jam, and maybe even some milk—but things had clearly gotten out of control. The jar had spilled, the bread was squished, and somehow even the floor had become part of the disaster.

CUTIS looked at BUEM again, noticing the worried expression and trembling lips. The frustration he initially felt began to fade. This wasn’t just a mess—it was a failed attempt to do something kind.

“You were trying to surprise me?” CUTIS asked.

BUEM nodded quickly. “I wanted to make you happy.”

There was a pause, and then CUTIS smiled. “Hey… it’s okay. Next time, we’ll do it together, alright?”

BUEM’s face lit up, relief washing over him. “Really?”

“Really,” CUTIS replied, handing him a cloth. “But first, we clean this together too.”

As they worked side by side, laughter slowly replaced the tension. The mess didn’t matter anymore. What mattered was the intention behind it—and the lesson they both learned about patience, forgiveness, and trying again.
