The summer sun was shining brightly, and little Monkey Lyly was already feeling the heat. She sat under a tree, waving a large leaf back and forth like a fan.
“Mommy, it’s so hot today!” Lyly said, wiping her forehead dramatically.
Her mom laughed softly. “I know, Lyly. That’s why I have a special surprise for you!”
Lyly’s eyes grew wide with excitement as she followed her mom into the kitchen. On the table were colorful fruits, fresh ice cubes, and several tall glasses waiting to be filled.
“Today we’re making delicious summer drinks!” Mom announced.
“YUMMY… YUMMY!” Lyly cheered happily.
First, they made a sweet watermelon juice. Lyly helped press the buttons on the blender and watched as the bright red fruit turned into a refreshing drink. She took a sip and smiled from ear to ear.
“Wow! It’s like drinking a cool summer cloud!” she giggled.
Next came mango smoothie time. Mom added ripe mangoes, milk, and crushed ice. The thick golden drink looked so delicious that Lyly could hardly wait.
Slurp!
“Mmmmmm! This is amazing!” Lyly shouted while doing a little happy dance around the room.
Their final creation was a colorful mixed fruit drink with oranges, strawberries, and pineapple. Tiny pieces of fruit floated on top like little boats.
Lyly carefully tasted it and clapped her hands excitedly.
“Mom, every drink tastes like happiness!”
The two monkeys sat together on the porch, enjoying their cold drinks while a gentle summer breeze blew through the trees.
Birds sang nearby, and the afternoon suddenly felt much cooler.
Lyly leaned against her mom and smiled.
“Summer isn’t so hot when you have yummy drinks and someone you love to share them with.”
Mom hugged her tightly.
“That’s the secret ingredient,” Mom whispered. “Love makes every drink taste even better.”
Lyly raised her glass high into the air.
“Cheers to summer adventures and yummy drinks!”
And together they shouted,
“YUMMY… YUMMY!” 🐵🥤☀️
